    all kidding aside, I run live loads, and I've only been checked when loaded once, and that was when i rolled across the scale with a low tire. Quite a few paperwork checks, but only one equipment check in half a million miles. I do think that the DOT guys realize that if you run live loads, you probably pay attention to your equipment (and we do).

    When empty, or with a backhaul, quite a few checks.

    Whatever the reason, I appreciate it.

    If anybody thinks you won't get a level 1 hauling cattle,then you haven't ran US 60 through Cabool Mo.
    There is one dot cop there who will inspect you while loaded,creeper & all.
    This is not truckstop talk,i was the driver when it happened.

    That feller is world famous! Never drug livestock thru there, but have been thru there with a flat a fair bit. Have seen him under more than one bull rack!

    If You go through the coop in Cabool you must not have been hauling cows long. 17 north out of mountain view to 63 south to 60 west if westbound or vice versa if east bound.

    Silly rookies...

    Wasn't at the coop,he stopped me west of there & I had to follow to a frontage road where he inspected me.
    I had already been around them & back on 6 0 when he stopped me. No rookie here whatever you might think.

    Because he could,wasn't speeding,all lights were working,might have just been my time. He was a nice guy,weighed me on the portables then inspected me. Wrote me an overweight ticket,escorted me to mtn. grove to the stockyards. He left after I backed to the chute. I watched him go east then headed west onto garden city.

    Double, I drive a 2013 KW 680. Started driving it with 230k and now 285k. 2 dpf cleanings and sensor, harnes (second time 4 full days in a hotel) , at leat 6 failed air fittings bad enough to lose all air over a 30 min break. 1 rear hub seal leaking (disk brakes), bunk heater hoses leaking ( 2 days to replace), bad hood strut broke and would not let me shut the hood ($380.00) part after discount. Instaled myself. 1 full set of batteries, The interior lights come on when it's raining while driving ( took 3 times in the shop to fix). 10 new tires (expected). 4 head lights bulbs, and this weekend found lower radiator hose leaky at the engine side (coroded) and the tailpipe hanger broken. More interior rattles and squeaks than should be. 2 guage lights don't work. Countless fuel tank fairing repairs.
    I have been driving since June. Seems to me this truck has all the problems all trucks have after the first 200k miles. Buy the way none of this was under waranty.

    I'm not sure the $149k truck is worth all that.
