I can detect if a 'nerd' has been in a room for up to four hours after they leave!

 

I preach slow merges just for that reason. If you change lanes in less than 5 flashes of the blinker, it was too fast, in my opinion. Sometimes you have to go quicker, but if you can take 5 or more flashes... 2 or 3 before you even start to move out of your lane, then it allows the cars time to react if they are making a bad move. I tell my students that if I can feel the lane change, it was too quick.

When I got my first coach driving job with a company the test was the guy putting an open topped styrofoam cup of coffee on the dash and telling me if any of it spilled I didn't get the job. He said "I don't care how slow you have to go or what you have to do to keep from spilling it." I thought he was kidding at first, but he assured me he was not. The test took almost an hour to go a mile or so down the road and turn around and come back but I got the job.

 

Thought it was tin foil?
