This is sad. Makes me wonder if Schneider is abandoning us western drivers. Not much freight out if Phoenix and the weather sucks in Utah.

No..I think it has more to do with what California is doing to co's and individuals with the outrageous costs....they still do plan on keeping Fontana as a drop yard though.

This isn't even funny. That is a major OC and a major maintenance hub. What happens to their school, er, training and training people? So another drop yard with no shower and a porta potty, if you're lucky?

They are offered other positions or transition assistance. You act as though Schneider is doing it purposefully to screw people.

Is Fontana's shop union mechanics? Also didn't we drop a bunch of money into Fontana a couple of years ago?

If true, I guess 99% union-free wasn't enough for them.

Fontana sold off about half their yard a few years ago. Don't know about any money being thrown at it though.

I'm in no way acting like that, so just keep your orange panties on. Before I left, the office peeps at SLC were bragging about how strong the west coast region was becoming and how well the west was running versus the east, I was just stunned because that is a key operating center and service center. I can't imagine a mega not having a strong presence in Los Angeles. So now they have just two 3 OCS with Shops and Driver ammentities on the entire west coast, Portland, SLC, and Phoenix? I'm not counting south tempe, as it's intermodal, and I'm not up to date on Denver. I know they had a drop yard in henderson and an auto parts warehouse or something over in aurora.
I always really liked that OC and loved to do a 34 there

I'll use the crap TA in Ontario now. $20 bucks minimum in purchases required per night.

Denver is still the mud lot in Henderson, though the intermodal place that owns it has been stuffing plenty of their own trailers and frames in the scant amount of space we're allowed to use. It's a freaking nightmare. It's supposed to be a secured yard, too, but the gate has been left open 24/7 now for a year. Anything left in an unlocked trailer overnight will likely be opened and pilfered through by morning. No one seems to care, though. That other place in Aurora is for the "anointed ones" who get to work there, even though there are never any jobs advertised out of that place, and if you ask people within Schneider about it, they give you the confused sheep eyes. Not that it matters, there's no where to park there, either...trucks stuck everywhere.
