Ticket following too close

Yes not driving anymore.. Why? several reason.. Two main reasons are
I had worked for a very good company that treated me very well brought home over $1000 a week net (usually around $1500 net) and they went out of business, tried a few companies out after that and they pretty much sucked to work for, The other main reason is I want to spend more time with my son.. So, I am into other things right now, very slow going but in time I will pickup...

Well keep in mind the I will scratch your back if you scratch mine... Matter of fact about a month ago there was a kid who had a prehire and after he had went threw school they would not hire him, even thought they said everything was okay.... He posted here telling us how he was stuck paying for the school now.... Hum? I wish I could remember who it was and if I even posted in it, I remember reading it though... If I posted in it I can find it so I will look...

If they tell you that its all good (And I have serious doubts that it is) make them give that to you in writing... make them give you a signed document stating they have done all research on you license history, past job history, and criminal history and that you have passed their qualification and will be hired pending you pass the companies class and test drive...

You will need to get something in writing that your license history has been checked and verified....

I tell you what Werner takes about anybody... they are basically a bottom feeder company and if you can't get on there I seriously doubt your going to find somebody...

 

Its not the fact it is a "moving violation" it the fact that it is a "major" violation far as the trucking industry goes... Following to close is a major violation not just a moving violation... You can have up to 3 moving violation within the past 3 years as long non of them are "major" moving violations, and they will hire you..

Big difference between the two "Moving violation" and "major moving violation" far as the trucking industry goes....

Since you have a "major" moving violation I am giving you some really good advise when I say, "if a company says they will hire you and the "flowing to close" ticket is not a problem, nor will the "fallowing to close" violation keep you from being hired with that company.... Get that in writing... Just don't go by what somebody is telling you over the phone.....

 

I'm pretty sure that list refers to CDL violations. I'll ask somebody in safety and recruiting about that. That sounds like a minor violation compared to some others if you're talking about a car. In a truck, it's a different story because of the increased likelyhood of flattening somebody.

 

There is no longer any difference between the two. If you are caught in a 4 wheeler doing 20 mph over the speed limit it will now show on the cdl.

§383.51 Disqualification of drivers.


(a) General. (1) A driver or holder of a CDL who is disqualified must not drive a CMV.

a)(3) A driver is subject to disqualification sanctions designated in paragraphs (b) and (c) of this section, if the holder of a CDL drives a CMV or non-CMV and is convicted of the violations.


(a)(4) Determining first and subsequent violations. For purposes of determining first and subsequent violations of the offenses specified in this subpart, each conviction for any offense listed in Tables 1 through 4 to this section resulting from a separate incident, whether committed in a CMV or non-CMV, must be counted.

 

Yes ,but if I understand right, he doesn't have a CDL and wants to know if it will keep him from getting hired because he got this ticket in his car in the past. Sounds like a typical teenager to me?? If what I think isn't right, he needs to come on out with it.

I can see a recruiter going " golly gee, we really frown on that kind of behavior and we'll be keeping an eye on you as soon as you start. When will that be? Tomorrow?"

After looking at his original post, it appears that it was fairly recent and won't be off his record for another year. I'd be interested in hearing what they say about it.

There is no exception for the two now. Insurance basically rules the roost now.

That is right. Now the personal car violations will affect any CDL or future CDL.
