pretty much all brokers can be ducks, but have you ever sat around truck stop and listened to drivers? not all on either side are bad, true i only hauled 3 loads through TQL in last 6 months but i had other freight, but my lowest rate on the 3 was $3 plus a mile from Decatur Al to Dover Tn for $750, thats 185 miles, what i would say is to many drivers is learn how to negotiate instead of when they give you the rate and you comment awwww #### that and hang up, a little chitchat whats up man kind of thing can get you a long way, a few of my friends are troopers and guess what gets alot of drivers tickets? that soup cooler they cant keep shut! i aint hauled a load for TQL in about 2 months but a couple of they brokers still call me just to talk without anything dealing with a load at all, i got brokers at other places that does the same at other businesses, could it be cause my attitude sux? doubt theyd call for that, what yall think?

Those 2 loads I listed were big arse sacks! They took up all 26 feet of my bed. The first was sacks filled with recycled alum chips and had to be tarped really good because they were going in to a melter and they said any water.....well picture a deep fryer and water going in it...lol. The dang chips were all over the pallets that the sacks were on and therefore all over my decking! I still can't walk barefoot on my deck! LOL. The second was a tad more tricky....it was sacks filled with ground up tires. They just kept compressing the entire trip so the straps had to be tightened like 10 times!

Sounds pretty tricky. You a hot shot?

I have always wondered what the biggest best "hot shot" pick up trucks guys can haul.
I wouldn't mind having one of those setups someday. -
Ruthless Thanks this.

Yea keep in mind I just started so those rates are based on very current rates. If your high rates are from any other time they may not be relevant....and I am LTL only so nothing really over 25k lbs...heck usually more like 10k.
Just post them here if you don't mind...it will help us all! That is why I posted mine publicly.
I will PM you my email now though in case you don't want your rates posted.....which I can understand. I have met a lot of truckers over they years and honestly some of them don't deserve a lick of help and need to just go away!Last edited: Dec 7, 2015

I never post rate cons publicly but pass them around friends all the time.

So rolling coal has had some dang good rates....but apples to oranges kinda. Most of them are in line with mine from what I saw....and my rig costs far less to own/operate/maintain/insure.
Heck my insurance is only 275 per month if payed in full and I have heard some of you tractor trailer guys pay 12k a year.
All of this has to be considered.
I do appreciate anyone's thoughts though because quoting rates is the most important part of this dang game!
