Not too surprised by any of this, the thing is, computers have always been pushed out by newer OS demanding more and more resources to operate properly. The only way to keep using old hardware that is still working is to not upgrade software at every opportunity.

I am not too computer savvy. But have friend that is I T guy for huge engineering firm. He says that Vista is just a go between until Microsoft introduces new system in a few years. I have not tried it. I have been very happy with XP. It has worked best for me with my limited skills. Must have been dummy proofed.:biggrin_25523:

I think when they designed vista. They built it on the brother-in-law theory.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about. I think the computer manufactures had a say in designing Vista. They wanted a OS that consumed alot of resources/hardware. This way they could sell systems with more kick then a average person needed.

I think Vista sucks! It wasn't compatible with much of our stuff and the truth is I still hate it and like millinium.

That does not surprise me, It sounds like that lovely microsoft X box we had . After 2 years of hardly any use, we got the boys rock band for christmas, it was so much fun for about a week, then we got the 3 rings of death, they said it was cold, so you have to cover it up, and use a hairdryeer to heat it up, then you wait till it cools down, well you can only do this so many times, then its fried, over 400 dollars down the drain. He just sold the rock band and all of the games for a steal so he could get a new bike.Very frustrating!!!!:biggrin_25510:

Ya and things will blow over on the seashores of old Mexico

Hate to be the one to tell you. Your system was probably one of those systems that were recalled a couple of years ago......:biggrin_2558:
