What all do you want to know about a Sterling? Personally I love mine, has made me more money than I could imagine and as many have told me, they'll run till the wheels come off. We have another one that is leased on with us and it's built solid. Con-Way, ABF, UPS still have those single axle day cabs from Sterling. Parts you can still get depending on the year. Mine is a 2000 and most parts that Freightliner doesn't carry, an outside vendor stocks.

Hi Big_D, in all fairness, that's true. TNT Holland used them for many years. All how it's spec'd out, I guess. It's just when I hear "Sterling", I immediately think of these magnificent chain drive beasts. https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/ba/ca/02/baca02047c6c52564be418ed9ccc6552.jpg

Oh my! That is one... impressive... sterling! I'll admit that the sterling is far from a Kenworth or a Pete, but taken care of they show up to perform. Mine has 1.5MM and if I allow it, she'll run with the big boys. I can safely say that I haven't seen any Sterling that seems to be comparable to mine. Either way overpriced or looks like it got beat down daily. The last one I bought, site unseen (yes not the smartest of things), resulted in a new front end. Had to fix some of the surface rust (mainly because the guy that is making the payments on it wouldn't take care of it). Even he said it's the first trouble free truck he's ever had. Plus it's a fuel mileage truck. I was close to getting 9 mpg with it (over the course of 90 days), but fuel prices dropped, my foot got heavy (thanks to those straight pipes I decided to install........) and now average 8.25 mix of dry van and reefer.
