All depends really for my self
Within 100mils 50 miles one why I get 2.50 a ton I pull 30 tons most trips
100-200 miles one why I get .73 loaded .63 empty
200+ one why I get .68 loaded .58 empty -

If you pick percentage you'll get lots of long runs
If you pick mileage you'll get lots of short runs.

% for a driver as a company is not always best. You are at the total mercy of whatever the carrier decides to pull. If they feel like sending you on a 900 mile trip for around .13 to .15 cpm your the one getting screwed.
Keep in mind that megas and some companys can drive there costs down lower then a O/O between discounts at the pump and on tires and buying power trust me there not taking much of a loss If any. -
also whether cpm or % depend as to whether or not you got a police riding in truck with you or not,aka qualcomm,ELDs etc etc etc
