So long as he has the permit for the state he is in, or one that is recognized by that state. There should not be any problems. Illinois, is very strict about CCW, if I remember correctly. And so is New York.

Good point, that's why personally I wouldn't carry even with legal permits. But I won't be worried if somebody else does. It's a risk they take.

It is completely legal to have a gun in the truck. Some states may say it has to be unloaded, some may say it has to be in a locked container, but NO states say you can not have it. Only problem would be going to restricted areas like military bases.

There is no fed law on having a firearm in the truck, been DOT'd many times as a O/O, and not been a issue, I had my holster mounted just above the throttle, it could easily be seen when you open the door, only question I had asked by a LEO was? Is it registered? And showed them my reg. Card

IL only reconize IL ccw. But anyone over 18 can have a gun in a vehicle in IL but it has to be unloaded and in a closable container, without an IL ccw

Unfortunately I do not know of any company that allows firearms in company vehicles. I'm sure they exist, but not many.

This is too complicated.... You have to know the requirements of all 50 states and unload & lock and safe as per state laws. Then if you really need the gun to defend your self ....... You are going to say to the intruder: Please, wait a minute to load my gun? Forget about it !

I carried my gun all the time OTR as long as it's in a case unloaded and ammo somewhere else... There is no federal law and I could careless if the company had a no gun policy the only way they would find out would be if I had to use it...

But still to this day some of these drivers still think guns can't be in commercial vehicles... Lol

This topic continues to get beaten to death

When your parked it can be out loaded and ready to go while your sleeping.... While driving it has to be locked up because of road rage and other issues
