I had a mental picture of a propane tank and heater in the sleeper, I was laughing so hard I could barely see straight, glad you set the record straight.

It's true blair. There is no substitute for a good alarm.

How much fuel does a engine burn idling anyway.

I guess anything is better than running those engines for two days while you wait for that $1.40 freight.

Local ,I have used this same model. I always woke up feeling like I couldn't breath. I finally got a carbon monoxide detector and within 30 minutes it would go off. Be very carefull.

Back in the 80's I used cans of sterno to keep the cold at bay while I was stuck waiting for a load, doubled as my food stove as well.

If you have ventilation it should be alright. I guess APUs are the way to go. But if it was a real money saver all the companies would have them.

I bought my apu when fuel was over $4 a gallon, it paid for itself rather quickly.

And that doesn't count idle wear on the engine does it? At 3600 hundred a year it would take almost 3 years to pay. But you have to count driver comfort. That's got to be worth something.
