I'd say this is the end of Gordon Trucking. These are new and sitting at Thermo King in North Liberty, IA having just had tri packs installed.

Wonder if Hartland took the available order of GTI trucks so they didn't get hit with an order canceling fee.....

Still would not at all be surprised to see GTI become the heavy/refer division for Hartland.

Probably sell it off to Haney. I can't see Heartless doing anything but dry vans and the reefers. I don't think the heavy haul is something they're really interested in. I can't see them keeping it much past January.

I've passed more and more of them each day. There's just something wrong about that. I wish they'd painted them red or white before slapping the decal on them.

I still have some fondness, but it's time to cut the cord. Bye bye, GTI.

"Leaving the big boys" is one of the reasons I came back to WEL. They've made some major corporate changes due to losing the original CEO a couple of years ago and the new CEO, the oldest son of the founder, has made many driver-related, positive changes. Two examples:

    1. I got a 10 cpm pay raise over the last company I worked with. Awesome!
    2. I'm driving a 2014 Pete with 330K miles and am scheduled for a brand new 2016 (or maybe a new 2017) something in February. They've gone to an all-KW and Pete fleet, getting rid of the Freightliners, which they had a tough time selling at the end of their lives.

They still outfit each truck with a diesel-powered APU - none of those battery-powered EPU's my previous company was switching to - will install a 1500 watt inverter and CB if we buy them, and still treat the drivers like pros...no routing or fuel stops provided and very little interference with DM's on how to get there. They give us a fuel card good at all the major suppliers and many non-major ones, and tell us "pick your stuff up here at this time and drop it there at that time and don't run out of fuel."

    Nice!

Bumper, tucker and Air Breeze Thank this.
