Add Watkins Refringerated (aka Sunco Carriers) out of Lakeland, FL to the list. Outside and driver facing cameras.

The more trucking companies have accidents and the more drivers are involved - or can't convince their safety department they weren't - the more lawyers will be involved. Lawyers and insurance company lawyers. And the more of them are involved, the more cameras will show up. They are coming, just like elogs.
Seriously injuring a famous comedian and killing another occupant wasn't helpful. -
There will always be those who don't like it for whatever reason. That's fine; I am not among them. If someone at my company wants to watch this old body naked, well, have at it. It will certainly make you stop thinking about sex for a bit!Blackandgold, Mtn Gal, gntorres61 and 1 other person Thank this.

that is a misunderstanding for most people, most cameras record on a constant loop while powered up and for up to an hour after shutdown. Tmc uses 2 kinds, the one i had in my truck was smart drive. It had several g sensors and a speed sensor that constantly gave off bad readings. It once said i was doing 82mph down i65 just north of louisville. How exactly does one get a 62mph governed truck to 82mph anywhere on i65 between Indianapolis and louisville? The cameras also allow the company to turn them on at will all they have to do is send a command

and probably all of their sub companies including Holland, at Holland we have them in some of our newer trucks, the union is telling is that theyre promising to not use it as a tool against drivers (write-ups,discipline) which so far is true but we will see how long this lasts.Ketchikan baby Thanks this.

YRC can't afford to give the drivers a full pension or give you guys back 15% but they have cash for cameras?
-
yes, they do. no money for paying back YRC debt from what I have seen either. luckly we have seen improvements, theyre buying new trucks, doing repairs that are long overdue, repairing and replacing concrete in the parking lott's, repairing cracks on the docks, new trailers. terminals are being upgraded, new terminals are being built to replace old ones.
the pension is a joke, for a newer employee its basically worthless. 1/4 credit for each year, you have to work 4x as long for the same benefit. 120 yrs and out. (lol). from what I understand it would be little more than a car payment as far as how much it will pay if I stayed 30 yrs, depending on future contracts and inflation.Mtn Gal, Toomanybikes and HalpinUout Thank this. -
Then maybe your equipment was faulty, but I do know that in over two years there have been at least 7 fatal Con-way crashes nationwide involving other vehicles and the camera has proven each case no fault to our drivers. I don't believe in the whole conspiracy thing, "someone is watching me to get me", because let's face it, everyone owns a cell phone with a camera. No one is hiding much these days.
And as for your over speed, perhaps you may have rolled out on a hill over that way? We had a guy a couple months back outside of Charleston flip his back box while going down a big hill....he said deer ran out in front of him.....oooops, camera showed him on his cell phone texting doing 77 mph in our 65 mph truck.
Accountability......it's all about accountability!Green_20, pagan22, gntorres61 and 1 other person Thank this.
