What a year!! I had never been pulled over or had gotten a ticket until I started trucking. I got two tickets and 9 warnings in the last 5 months and I am about to renew my personal vehicle insurance. Will they affect my rate? My tickets were:
-Illegally operating a CMV with improper registration
-No Proof of trailer inspection
CDL tickets affect personal car insurance?

Every Insurance company I have heard about is only interested in moving violations and accidents. Documentation and other paperwork issues don't generally get them upset. If you drive OTR check and see if you can get your rate reduced a bit because of the limited time you actually drive your vehicle. A few years ago I got mine reduced by almost $75 a year doing that.

Any convictions that comes up against your license, they will try to use against you and raise you premium.

Are you O/O or Company driver? If company your carrier should be the ones getting those tickets. They should have had the truck properly registered with the DMV. Maintenance should know that tractor and trailer require periodically and annual inspections
-
-no license plate light
-Defective windshield wiper
-under inflated tire
-improper side marker configuration
-no fire extinguisher brackets
Can't remember the rest.. -

Though improper side marker configuration does have me scratching my head. What exactly was wrong with it.Junkyarddog5958 Thanks this. -
Might want to start doing a pre-trip inspection.
