Old Iron, do you mean Transport Trailer Sales? I have never dealt with them personally but my neighbors bought a mini deck from them ~4 yrs ago and I haven't heard any bad stories yet. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with them.

We have three Wilson road Brute step decks. When I spec'd the first on one '08, I told the salesman I wanted to add a rear axe dump. Wilson wouldn't do it. I asked why (kind of knew that answer based on my previous experience with the '95 Reitnouer). "Too much stress on the frame" was the answer.

EDIT: Memory is a little fuzzy but I want to say they would have added the rear axle dump but it would have required a redesign to make the beams stronger and it was a little late in the game so I said no.

That doesn't make sense. Many trailer manufacturers put rear axle dumps in at the factory before they even get to the dealers. And have been doing so long before 08

Yeah but what I'm saying is I think some mfgs beef up the beams. I would be cautious of a dealer that throws a dump valve on a trailer that wasn't designed for it. Not saying everyone should be but I would.

I'm not trying to change anyone's mind or prove that I'm right and the rest of you are wrong. Just relaying my experiences is all.

Thanks. That's the one.The sales man I have been talking with doesn't seem to need my money that bad. I asked him for more pictures than they had on the truck paper site. He sent me the same ones plus 2 duplicates. I told him I know what a flatbed looks like from 50 yards away. I wanted close ups off the axle/ frame mounts, King pin plate and tire/brake/wear items. Still waiting. I guess tough times haven't hit this dealer yet.

I get what your saying rank, I just disagree. I'd rather have extra force pushing down on a beam, than perpendicular to the beam. Which is what will happen on any spread axle trailer, without a dump valve, in a tight turn.

Or the pictures you are wanting will show things that would keep you from buying the trailer. It's a sales trick. Never give a buyer a reason not to come by. Much easier to try and talk you into it once you are there, than to give you a reason to stay away. It's the same thing the mega companies do with their lead purchase agreements, they won't email them to a potential recruit, they insist on him showing up and going through orientation and then showing him the contract. Nothing but slimy sales tricks.
