Anyone have any info about the company I heard they were hiring and put in an app today. The run I would be doing is picking up trash in brooklyn and taking it up to Painted Post ny or another location I want to say Seneca.

Few other things I found out. 275 per load they want 5 a week. Permitted for 120k gross, paper logs, you can take the truck home if you have place to park it which i do 10 min from the house. I live just south of Binghamton Ny so im not going to syracuse everytime. Downside is i have to take it to syracuse if it needs repairs.

The other question I have is if I will be able to do the run on my 14. Dont know exact mileage but I know the gw bridge is 170mi from my house, add extra 20mi to brooklyn. Google says painted post is 260mi from brooklyn. Right there is 450mi not including wait time loading and unloading at the landfill. then a 75mi drive back to my house. If everthing goes smooth I should be able to log it legal. Some of the trucks have sleepers, most are day cabs. Coming from doing food service this sounds like a nice gig, 1375 a wk, being home almost every day sounds tits

here's a pic of the setup they run https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3795/12636694223_e20ec02672_b.jpg I see em all the time running Ny 17 down to the threw way. Hardly see any on 80 they all run the back way on 17. I heard DOT gets after them, I've seen some ratted out mbi rigs.

I really want to get out of foodservice before i hurt myself. I would try and get a better gig but im only 22, most want you to be 23 not til september here. Have just shy of a yr exp. Im working on getting hazmat found nice local tanker company but they want 2yrs exp

The mbi barn in mn has a bad rap, alot of turnover, but it sounds like a better gig over there. Last one i talked to said st. Paul mn. to eau clair wi. Was like 76 bucks a turn, try for 3 a day lucky to get 2 consistantly. Catch one of there drivers at the pump...

Let me add my info is years old...

Yeah i did a search on here and found low numbers like what you said. I know it pays better than other runs because your going into nyc. I don't mind nyc, I learned to drive there.

    Are those walking floors 53ft?

Since I've been laid off from gas fields for the winter and gotten home time (painted post, ny) I've noticed a bunch of there trucks parked around town, seems that a bunch of guys are working for them, been asking around but havent gotten to talk to any of the drivers yet.

The ones I've seen are 53ft and traditionally I know the DOT around here knows that the garbage haulers are usually over permitted weight,

Make sure you research that particular barn. Some of them are good, others are a nightmare. I wondered for MBI in Salt lake for 5 years. We got $100 a run, 2 run a day(hopefully) but we also hauled turnpike doubles so 1 truck was actually doing 4 loads a day. But it was easy and m-f was nice. The trucks get beat to he'll though and it can be hard to get maintenance done on them.
The trash sucks really bad and MBI doesn't seem to attract very professional drivers. Its also quite easy to get hurt, if you're not careful.

Most were, they also ran tip ups, the ones they put on the those tipping tables that put the whole trailer on end . But i will add they are loaded on a active scale, so never more or less then 200 lbs from legal

I worked for MBI at the main office in Chicago area...

Never again... With all the wait time at the transfer stations and landfills plus traffic it's a joke... Comes out to like $15.00 an hour.... Long hours, you can work as much as you want.... Log books are paper and they could care less... There're a lot a lot a lot of trucks and transfer trailers that they refurbish... Any questions let me know.
