    FW..... what's your avg. MPH running? 60-65? , I'm at OD ..avg is 60, thinking about going to SNI but...if calculate the 35% tax bracket....vs 32% now then might not be any advantage. I avg $34-$35/hr when running loaded trailer. Jeff from youtube number $52981(68922mi loaded) NET for first 32 weeks of 2015 >>> 52981 / 32weeks) - 35%TAX = $1076/wk. OD >>> 2600avg/mile/wk x .54cpm + 68accessorialPAY) - 32%tax = $1000/wk. With SNI I calculate per/hr running loaded is about $46/hr($52981 / (68922miles / 60mph), you chasing less mileage at SNI.
    Surgeons mean avg/hr is $115 btw ;-) http://www.bls.gov/oes/current/oes_nat.htm#00-0000

What part of Florida is that @freightwipper? How did the car handle for the ride down?

Fuel is really cheap now so MPG don't mean as much as it use to at least in my opinion.
How fast I go mainly depends on how my day is going, if I have extra time I'll slow down but if I'm low on time I'll go 70 MPH.
I pile on shorter loads mainly which is more risky for things to back fire on trip planning and timing.
Miles don't matter to me, I've had 2200-2300 mile weeks grossing over $5000.
You can't really trust my numbers, Jeff's numbers or whomever because how everybody will run is different. Where they go, what they're willing to do, how long they're willing to stay out etc etc. Those numbers could be a idea of what is possible but that doesn't mean you could do it. There's dudes running the Northeast that pull off numbers I can't get close to still.
Working a full 7 day week I can still $2500-$3000 after expenses but that's following most makes most sense financially, not going home and mainly doing loads I don't enjoy doing. I've had weeks better that that but not lately as things have tanked a bit. If I leave my money areas, if I go home.. I take a beating.
OD is a very good company. OD company driver vs being a choice driver is two completely different types of lifestyles. What type of lifestyle would make you most happy is what I think is most important at least for me.
I will be in Florida for New Years because I choose to, when I go back to work I will be avoiding ice and snow storms by choice. Stuff like that holds huge value to me.

    Fort Lauderdale beach.
The ride was fine besides endless amounts of rain.
I've noticed the car feels wayyy more power in cooler air. It's effing hot down here

    HalpinUout Thanks this.

I was reading the latest edition of the extra mile at the OC last year ;) ok, yesterday, and they talked about the goals for 2016 is to reduce the trailer searches by 85% and they believe they are part of the way there already. They also talked about how they are positioned to weather the storm that is coming with the predicted soft market by having all of these year round contacts instead of chasing spot markets. Something they learned from 2008 2009 slow freight market.
