I saw some that were rated 12k,.. they showed a picture of a school bus on a wheel lift behind a wrecker.

The ones I have now are starting to show their age. I'll probably have a new set by next summer.

That D61 was the only thing that ever really left a mark. No damage to really speak of. Some small marks on the ramps,.. that was it. I used 4x4's under the blade on the deck. Machine was too tall to utilize 4x4's under the tracks. doubt they would have survived anyway.

When I first got the trailer I would never dream of putting tracked equipment on it for fear of damaging the deck or ramps. I tried a smaller 120 excavator first. Then a few D3, 450, D5 machines,.. again,.. nothing. I was hesitant to do the D61. Was supposed to be only 40k. After scaling,.. it was actually closer to 43k lbs. They paid $4.15 mi from Meridian, MS to Littleton, NC and loaded from the same exact Komatsu dealer I had just delivered a D31 from Texas to. 0mi deadhead. So um,.. yeah.

Not only that,.. but they had problems with that D61,.. 3 days later I took it back to Meridian and switched with another D61 and took that one back to Littleton. If I remember correctly the D31 paid over $3 mi from just outside Houston to Meridian. That was one of my best grossing weeks and ended up working with that broker doing other equipment till my truck went down in April,.. never got a call back,.. seems they dont like to hear no I cant do it, my truck is in the shop.

Been a very good trailer. I have the HD Ramps. They are rated 23,500 lbs each piece. So they are supposed to have a 47k working limit. More than I would ever put on my trailer.

Anyone ever use this lasso type of strap - they seem pretty versatile but not really a "net" that goes over the tire to hold the strap up but not sure if that matters or not?

Before I bought the wheel straps, I have taken the 4inch winch strap and "Lasso" it around the tires, then back to the deck.

Wish I had taken some pictures of when I had done it. Sorry, but I do not. But if in a pinch you can use your straps for the same usage if chains are not an option.

I never cared for those. Watch closely the next 3 car wedge trailer you see with those straps. The vehicles "rock" back and forth when they come to a stop.

I have thought about that also or running a 2" and doing the same. I would rather be "doing it right" sometimes the "do what I can make work" style of doing things drives me crazy

Do they let you operate the machine that you are hauling or do they load 'em?
