We all start somewhere, highly doubt you were born with years of truck driving experience. I dislike the large companies as well as they put many small business' out of commission which is unfortunate, absolutely, but I know I didn't have the 12,400$ to go to the truck driving school where I live.
The Patriot Thanks this. -
John Dewart Thanks this.

Also introduce you to many good smaller companies....John Dewart Thanks this. -
I'm staying here til my brother in law gets through school, when he's done with his contract we'll find somewhere to run team. Crsts biggest problem is being unorganized because it's so massive, they never know where there empty trailers are, but then again it's the drivers who don't send the macro for a trailer change...
Have any of you done any driving up in Canada? Kinda wanna go check that place outThe Patriot Thanks this. -
There's several team companies that hire new cdl grads. Is your brother in law going with CRST?
-
Yea he is, I've already established a solid relationship with them, and they take care of me, so I figured why jump now. All of you are right there's definetly higher paying jobs but I'm not gonna bail on him for a couple more bucks. I've been searching and I want to find a smaller company to drive for in the states or something that does cross border driving. Although I can't seem to find much information on cross border driving

For good work ethics , gotta start driving somewhere might as well drive for CRST,
Learn and move up from there
Think of it like this John :
You're still going to be one of the few who can stomach working for CRST.... LOL
It is what you make of it here in trucking some of the drivers will never make it passed the first year
Some drivers make a personal agenda (single drivers only)
get some OTR training then a move
Some drivers (family drivers) seek out local driving, some are subject to being forced into OTR , until obtaining opertunity to work LTL docks on daily P&D
.....hang in there JohnJohn Dewart Thanks this. -
You won't have any problems finding a good team company because you both will have enough experience by the time his obligation is fulfilled to be able to pick and choose.
Best wishes!John Dewart Thanks this.
