I agree but maybe a little trust and honor each other's words, may just change bad to good, someone has to give it try

Drivers thanks for the good and bad input , I try not to make same mistakes again.

And who can't afford $100 or so to get themselves home? If you can't come up with a couple hundred bucks at any given time you have bigger issues to worry about.LGarrison, drvrtech77 and Lonesome Thank this. -
Hey bud.
I understand where you're coming from. I worked there too and my experience wasn't as bad but I can defiantly agree on some of your points. At first my dispatch was good and I was making money.
Then my dispatcher got promoted and I went through two new ones. They were horrible, so bad that I just gave up. It was good that I did try to make it work because inward doing well for the first 6 months. I returned the truck to Columbus terminal, and had my wife get me next morning. After cleaning out my truck and my wife driving 500+ miles to get me I just packed up and left.
The per deim is bad, it's like .10 off your mileage pay (.36 at that time), and to top it off the tax w2 or whatever for the end of the year was 10,000 short of what I really made. They sent me recently a huge .2 raise for all drivers memo and I laughed. They sent me a sticky with my w2 return that said 10,000 per deim that's it to show what was tax free. So in the end, it does hurt you by not showing what you make in reality for bank loans and what not.
They also message me and email me to come back but I never will just because of the dispatch problem. I went to making 7-900 take home to 3-5 take home and it was terrible from the dispatcher changes.
I did make a thread on my journey with this company. They do have some good things about them but their main problem is absolutely the dispatcher and load planners. It's a horrible. -

When I quit McDonalds at 16 years of age, I paid my own gas home. Those rip offs....

I worked for J&R Schugel for about a year and when I first started it was great, I had a good dispatcher and I was getting consistent miles and pay, always had 1 or 2 pre-plans while under my current load, then he got called back to Active Duty.. From then on, it all went down hill fast, and I had to leave them because I just wasn't making any money anymore and I used to stay out 2-3 months at a time. When I left I was making .28 cpm + the per diem rate of 9 cpm.. I was part of the reefer fleet and mostly hauled Kraft and Campbells soup loads, I wasn't dedicated or anything but they had a big contract with them. Also when I worked for them they about 400 tractors, now I was reading they have over 600 ? And I'm not sure if that number includes the L/P trucks
I had one job that was really odd with them ; I was to pick up a driver outside of Allentown PA and head to Northwest Philly looking for an abandoned company truck. I really didn't want to do it but I got a flat rate of $500 for that odd mission.
I gave the company about a 3 weeks to a month's notice and at the end they got me a load home to Florida to unload my truck, then got me a load of Orange juice out of Umatilla,Fl going directly to MBM foods in Columbus OH, I dropped off my truck at the terminal there in Columbus and they offered me bus ticket and 1 night at the hotel for free , but I turned them down because I had already made other plans..
Overall it wasn't a bad company but I just didn't make enough money to make it worth it.
P.S. - Those super single tires I had on my truck absolutely sucked in the snow and ice.Last edited: Dec 29, 2015

Almost forgot another negative aspect, the trucks do have cameras but I personally used to unplug mine because it would randomly record and that light would be red for hours sometimes. I always unbuckled my seat belt while backing in a shipper/receiver, truck stop , yard and on 2 occasions I received a verbal warning and written letter in the mail about this, before my truck had the camera installed this was not an issue, ever..Now they say the camera only records when there's a critical event, but that is just not true .. Think about it, they say if there is a critical event it captures so many seconds before and after the event, how can it not be recording before the event if it has x amount of seconds of capture time before the event ?? Give me a break !
