Honestly who really eats (and enjoys) truck stop food

I like the meatloaf at Pilot/FJ

That's about it. I'll get a piece if I see them bringing it out fresh.

I always stop at the loves in Kansas at the 145. The clerk there is really nice and always gave me a few of those tornado things for free. Learned to avoid that pretty quickly. Heartburn like a mother ####er.

 

well, I drink soda coffee water tea cider juices, eat fruits nuts berries granola bars fish crackers greasy burgers fries chicken beef seafood and so on. some I buy in a grocery store some in a restaurant. could do better on exercise
I eat at ta petro or any buffet for that matter but not everyday. its mix and match. food is and has been getting boring, what one mght think is better isn't always around. gotta make the best of it.

 

I prepare most of my meals in the truck. I make things like rice, pinto beans, chicken, and veggies prior to a trip and use them as a base for many meals. Depending on how I season it all in my skillet, I could have a curry, creole, or asian. Tonight I had corn tortillas with rice, beans, and salsa.

I will admit to occasionally being a sucker for some flying j pizza but only if they just brought it out. I know it's pre made and relatively low quality, but I still like it.

 

I used to like pizza .. then there was a flying j and pilot that ruined it..

The Triple T here in Tucson is a regular stop for locals as well as truckers. I take my wife and daughter out there around once a month for breakfast. Had to go elsewhere new years day, the wait for a table was over 1/2 hr.

 

by the way, some truck stops sell a small assortment of cheeses, curds and smoked meats.

 

Yup. Vitamins.

 

I got a 12 volt cooler and stack it with vegetables and fruit. Eat pb and j in the morning. Fruit for lunch then veggies and potato salad or something for dinner. All from Wal-Mart. If you eat truck stop food full time you will die.

 

I won't pass an Iron skillet

 

Oh..everything else I too feel is garbage but iron skillet? with the plates by the pound? Mostly decent. Don't eat there breakfast and late night you have to play it by ear.
