I'm not sure. She had a foreign accent, though. I guess I'm just beating a dead horse, but it pi---es me off when I see cheap stuff on the boards anymore. I can't complain about making money, I'm doing pretty good with loads. I just wish drivers these days would have some b--ls and say this is what I want out of the load instead of saying, "ok, if you can't get anymore out of it, I guess that will work." I have sat in truck stops and listened to drivers book loads and not even try to get a descent rate out of it. Maybe there is an over abundance of trucks and everyone fighting for the same stuff. I don't know....

I have a couple of foreign guys show up at one of my regular picks and they claim to have received grants for their trucks, so I tried to find one too, but there are no govt. programs to help truckers if you are an American male. It just kind of bothers me, makes me wonder a bit. Was in Knoxville last month got stuck out there for three days, said Hello to lots of fellers but only a handful spoke English, wondered how many of them had grants. Makes me question FMCSAs concern for safety, these dudes can't even speak the language used to navigate our country so let's put 'em in an 80,000 lb. truck and give 'em a Garmin for free, that should boost the economy. Bet $.60 is easier to swallow if all you pay is fuel

roanhorse, that's a good point. I was at a Dr. Pepper plant here not long ago, and I was just coming out of the driver check in door. A foreign guy was walking around like he was lost, so I asked him what he was looking for. All he could say was "check in." He had no idea where the driver check was at, although there was a sign about 5 ft. long and 2 ft. tall that said driver check in above the door I just walked out of. Hmmmmm.....

This "family friendly" forum that was supposed to "portray truckers in a positive light" has been overrun with xenophobes.

If someone who uprooted his life, moved to a strange new land, and perhaps learned a new language can make a living out here, what pathetic excuse can someone born with every advantage even attempt to offer?

double yellow, you are right. I don't think it was meaning harm against foreign people. But, I think roanhorse was stating that if you are a minority you get certain grants for trucks and trailers and can afford to haul loads for dirt cheap. Which isn't right, the grants should be for all citizens or this country. United we stand, not seperated.

That's right, I am all for equal opportunity, but it's gone way past equal, it's not my fault I was born here.
