So I am considering a few Pete's from 97-99 range. Tell me if I'm wrong but it appears I'll be ending up with either the 3406e or C15.
This would be my first experience with cats so should I avoid one of the other and why?

Cats suck. They're heavy and they're expensive to fix

My 99 has a Detroit, cats get in my way.

Well these were not the replies I was expecting lol. I am actually a Detroit guy currently my 99 Volvo has treated me very well, have the BW 171702 and straight through muffler and it pulls good and has averaged mid 7s pulling a car hauler which is better than I was told was possible
KB3MMX Thanks this. -
Even with a tired CAT with a million miles I walked by broke down Detroit's and ISX trucks all the time.
Now my CAT is getting a refresher...josh polk Thanks this. -

That's a good year range for pretty much any engine brand. The electronics had been around long enough to get a lot of the bugs worked out and there isn't any EGR and DPF crap to worry about. 2003 was pretty much the beginning of the end for engine reliability IMO.
