Thanks, Chinatown. I called the company and learned that a Passport may be used instead of a birth certificate, but the only document that may be substituted for a non-Laminated Social Security Card is a DD-214, and I'm not a Veteran. So, off I went to the Social Security Office. My "paper" Card should be in my possession in 10 business days.
Take care!

I was under the impression Schneider did away with their CDL training. I just talked to a Schneider recruiter and he told me I need to come in with a CDL and they would accept anything as long as it was 160 hours. I also called Bowman, and although I can't remember the conversation, I am 99% certain they require some experience, but it could have been just once or twice around the block. The girl I spoke with a month or so ago told me she would email an info packet. I'm still waiting. I got the impression when I was talking to her that she was shining me on because I had no experience but she could have grown a pair and told me to F off.

Schneider does have a school in Gary,IN but it's restricted drivers living in a certain area such as North Indiana and Chicago. Don't know the details exactly but it's on one of their websites.

Thanks, I did find one Schneider school (I thought it was Ohio) but they only accepted applicants from within a 50 mile radius.
I was pretty disappointed with Roehl. That was far and away my top pick for training, and they literally refused all contact. -
Your from Pa ? I am in Ohio I am still looking for a school myself

I did tons of research and thought Roehl offered the best overall CDL program and decent jobs. They had a few 14/7 and 7/4 7/3 jobs I was interested in but I heard they are filled so they are putting everyone in OTR jobs. Schneider has a location 35 minutes from me and I could drive for them but need the CDL. There is another website (TT) that indicates I could pay Roehl upfront for training with the understanding I would drive for another carrier. But Roehl literally will not even talk to me so I have to find another way to get the CDL. If Schneider interests you, check this link out.

Ok & yea I dont about paying that that upfront amount. Be sure that's what you want and make sure you do your research
-
There's no indentured servitude if I pay upfront. And although Schneider offered (kind of) a driving job that fit my needs perfect, I actually would have considered running OTR for Roehl under the right circumstances.
Sage has a CDL school in New Stanton PS and I may end up going there. -
I am in northern Ohio When are you thinking of going ?
-
I don't plan on starting anything until the end of February give or take. Sage's New Stanton enrollment is once a month and they have classes starting Feb 8 and Mar 7 I believe, so I'd have to do the March. But I also want to look at some other options.
