Seems everyone has different experiences. It's been 15 months now that I've been at Hirschbach and I've never had a payroll issue. My take home checks are always over 1400.00. Yea it's 1099 and I have to save for my taxes, but I'm happy. In another year and a half I have the option of financing approximately 54,000.00 and I'm free to to do as I wish with the truck. Some say lease is stupid, but where else are you going to get a 3 year old truck for 54k? That nobody but you has ever pulled a load with.

Piecrumbs and Ssand Man Thank this.

I thought their trucks were faster and they crept along for better fuel mileage, so I never slowed down while they passed me going .001 mph faster than me.

Lol. No. They are governed at 64mph. With no overdrive passing gear. I'm sure I'm not the only one that thinks having so many trucks governed near the same speed is dangerous to everyone

When I went to Hirschbach I was very hopeful. Most of the drivers there seem happy but I just had too many things go wrong. Hirschbach is more of a regional company. I like long haul better 1800+ mile runs.

I lease now. I like being able to fuel and run anyway I want. I am paid 74% of the linehaul plus 100% of everything else, like fuel surcharge, detention and stuff like that.

How do you figure it only will cost you $54,000 to finance after 3 years? Aren't you making a truck payment every week for 3 or 4 years until you can refinance the $54,000 you still owe on the truck? So in the end after you pay off the truck what do you end up paying for it? $250,000 $300,000 $350,000?

    O.P. hasn't posted in almost 2 months.

that often means things didn't work as planned

52 weeks in a year. Payments are 687.00 a week, so I'm gonna round up and say 36,000.00 a year times 3 years. That's 108,000.00. Then the balloon payment depends on what kind of interest rate you get. As I said before. It's not a bad deal

Do they hire(or lease to) folks living in florida?

And do you have any power to choose your loads?
