everytime i get the jury duty notice i return the form required stating that i cant pay my bills if i dont work and i get excused. the one year was not excused i called in at the appointed time for two weeks and was not called to serve.
i would like to do my part for my community but there are plenty of retired folks around here so i will help the prosecution after they make me stop truck driving

I know this is off topic but I believe there should be professional jury pools..

I agree, since no one ever gets a jury of their peers.

I always say if I were being tried for a crime I would want a jury trial if I was guilty but a trial by judge if I were innocent..

And being from the, you know, law enforcement community, you would know better than the rest of us how that whole things works.

I'm at a Love's near the intersection of I90 and I35 taking my break enroute to Ft. Worth for a Thursday delivery and I have to say something I never thought I would say:

After having driven all night in -15 degree temps, with the truck heater up all the way and it barely keeping the cold out, I am done with cold. My tires don't like it, the brake lines don't like it, the air lines don't like it, and the reefer, well, let's just say it's working continuously to maintain 35 degrees. And all those single pops and clicks of indeterminate location and/or cause? So refreshing...ly frustrating not being able to find and identify them.

Nope. I no longer like any of it.

Sorry, Alaska. You know how much I loved -50 temps when I was a young man. How much fun I had when I drained oil out of my airplane in the Bush every night and slept with it to keep it warm so it would pour the next morning.

But no more. Like Donald Trump accused the NFL, I am getting soft in my old age.

And I was excused from jury duty, or more precisely, "You are excused from jury duty at the 63rd District Court."

I'm not sure if the clerk meant permanently or just this time ... and I'm not going to ask!
