You forgot the background check, fingerprinting, and $80 fee

I drive a reefer. We haul some hazmat. Paint, Coca Cola ingredients, cleaning products. Fracking chemicals. Some stuff is keep from freezing... Some is keep from getting too hot. I recently had a load that had to stay at 75 degrees...
It's a little more work... But not a lot. I'll take the extra .05 a mile...
Some places we haul food to, you only get sent if you have a hazmat... cause they know the return load will be hazmat...
Company paid the $86.50 for fingerprints and the background check and also paid for the endorsement fee on the CDL.
I also got the tanker endorsement so I can haul those big liquid totes in the reefer....

I got it with the thought that having it would look better on an application. If I never use it then I will consider it a small investment in my chosen career. If it gets a better company to hire me then it was a worthwhile investment.

Yep, mine helped me get a local job right out of school. I have hauled I think 5 hazmat loads in 2 years, all of which were less than 30 miles. One of them was 1100 lbs of flamible paint in a chevy express 2500 van 5 miles. But they require all of the drivers to have it just in case.

Is it a wise move to get Hazmat before CDL school or can that be done?
