It's a secret. I tell you, then the whole world knows how to get paid by being awesome. Then I seem less awesome to the people paying me an awesome bonus. One must maintain his awesomeness by doing less awesome things for people inquiring about his secrets of awesomeness. Therefore, I'm still paid for be awesome. Next question?tsavory, Hurst and street beater Thank this.

That would be the cats meow for me. Would love to find a shipper paying enough to where I could run like that.
Currently I'm running back to back loads and scrambling to get as much cash in the bank as fast as I can.
My wife and I often talk about how to come up with a way to make the money I want each month with as much time at home as I can. I talk with drivers who go out for a week or two and come home long enough to get barely get 1 weekend home. They seem to be fine with that,.. others who are home weekly say they are home long enough to get a restart in and then head back out.
I dont like either of those. When I am home,.. I want to enjoy some quality home time. I want to be able to do more than just focus on getting ready to go back out. Thats why for me I stay out 3 - 5 weeks,.. then home 7 - 14 days. I'm out longer,.. but I am technically home more. I have a set amount I want to gross when I head out. When I reach that number,.. I head home. It affords me the lifestyle and hobbies I like to enjoy.
Is it greed that makes me work harder for more money when I could easily get by with less? I often wonder when I hear other guys who are comfortable with 1 or 2 loads a week, then sitting at home till they find a load they want. I dont like to pry into other peoples business so I never ask what they net each week operating like that? What their actual cost of living is? I like nice things. I like new toys. If my sneakers or boots are getting old,.. or if my truck needs tires,.. I dont want to wonder if I have enough money to cover it. I want to know I can and any time I need or want, I can. Is it selfishness or greed to want to earn more than I need?

When I was in construction I discovered early on,.. that the less they know you can do,.. the less they expect from you. Thus the less you have to work to earn the same money.

Who wants to work full time when you can get full time pay for half the work?
I've done loads where I netted more from just 2 loads,.. roughly 200 - 250 miles each than doing a 2000 mile long haul. They are out there. Wish Fla had that kind of freight moving all the time.
