I have offers from both Covenant and Swift.
Covenant has a lot of team driving to start off. The pay seems decent 36-42. Insurance is good, pay for school is decent. I've read hundreds of reviews of all the megas but convenant has a lot of good revies and the bad reviews are what I would expect. Rarely in the reviews does someone mention pay being a problem. Teaming however...that could be an issue.
Swift pays a 36-37c a mile. Driving starts off with a trainer and then you go solo. Swift recruiter says (who knows if its true or not) there is a possibility in the future of doing regional type accounts if I was interested and an opening became available.
Covenant Vs Swift (any info on prime?)

Cents per mile doesn't mean too much really.
Are you sure those are the only companies you're interested in out of a couple dozen or more to choose from?
Which state are you in; seems like I remember you being in Kentucky.Locke Thanks this. -
Yep, I am in kentucky. If there are any you think I should apply for, I'm all ears.
I have applied for quite a few and I have done research on a bunch.
Dart- Refused me because I had only 150 hours of school....they want 160. Makes no sense whatsoever. Especially since I worked for a month after school.
Werner didn't like my work history. Would be interested after 6 mos of experience but with 6 mos of experience I can think of better companies to work for.
Schneider wouldn't hire me because of an accident.
I have applied for some flat bedding companies but the reviews....there just not good. I'm talking, TMC, McElroy, Maverick. Even if I ignore the reviews, I am not interested for all the tarping that is involved.
Stevens transport- Horrible reviews from the tanker side and the reefer side.
CR England-- yeah, bad reviews.
I applied for Trimac, but they need experience.
Abilene Motor Express is just too far away. My wife doesn't want to live in Virginia.
JB Hunt requires experience.
Lastly, I had talked to PTL (Paschall) and they seemed decent. You had to team the longest, the pay was alright and the insurance was a little on the expensive side. -
Locke Thanks this.

I live in North West side of Kentucky, an hour or so from Evansville, 40 mins from madisonville, 40 mins from Hoptown, hour and a half from Bowling Green

Locke Thanks this.

You don't have to relocate to work for Abilene Motor Express.
I'd try Abilene Motor Express, Freymiller, Magnum Ltd. or go with Paschall for a few months.Locke Thanks this. -
Magnum takes a year of driving experience.
Freymiller takes 6 months.
I will look into Abilene and see if that might work out.
Why Paschall though? They seemed alright, but nothing really stood out in my memory. -
Paschall is ok to get started. They run Eastern half of USA and are more forgiving of such issues as MVR, cdl schools.Locke Thanks this. -
Alright, Ill check that out.
