    Bear with me, I will try to explain in a way that makes sense.

    You take your tarp, roll it out on the ground, and spread it out completely. On the side facing the trailer, tie some long pieces of rope into the corner grommets. Have the fork truck that loaded you come to the middle of the tarp facing the trailer. Pull the edge of the tarp that's opposite of the trailer onto the forks. Have the fork operator get out and help you fold the tarp onto the forks. Both of you grab the ends that's nearest to the trailers (with the rope in the corners) fold up to the forklift, then back to the end of the forks, then back to the forklift, then back to the forks, with the final fold bring the ends with the ropes at the end of the forks.

    The forklift will lift the tarp, and put it over the tallest part of the load. Pull the rope, and the tarp will slide off the forks like a waterfall. Bring that side down to the deck, and then have the forklift back away from the trailer. The tarp will fall down the other side of the load like a waterfall. Load is covered without the driver climbing. Give the forklift driver $10 for a six pack of premium import beer and he's your new best friend.

    More than likely that's the way I would've done it as well. Given the situation in the video, maybe the forklift operator was busy, I carry a ladder and would've used that to help unread of climbing all over. To each their own

    Some times, you have to do what you have to do to get the job that you said you would do DONE. I understand and I am not mad at ya. I was just pointing out that for $10-20 for 5 minutes work, the busiest forklift operator will unbusy himself.

    If he pay's out $20 now he's $5 in the hole to throw the rag
    They're pay scale seem's a little off for how 'special' they are
    15$ to tarp. $10 per hour detention? etc....

    TripleSix's method is brilliant, I've got that burned in my memory banks in case I ever need it, many thanks.

    What I don't understand from the video is, why doesn't the guy use a ladder? IMHO a good ladder is a vital tool if you're gonna flatbed.

    @TripleSix wasnt mad at you, was agreeing with you

    @Son Whats not to like? There are loads of other companies you can go to if you want $40 bucks every time you throw a tarp. You're also compensated for the stop, which varies in amount depending on location, and detention is minimal due to the fact that YOU set up your own appointments with your customers, so there really shouldn't ever need to be detention. Say I were to go to Canada, that's $40 right there, for each stop, which you'll have multiple stops, picks and drops, and each time you're paid that $40 bucks. if you go into Quebec that's ANOTHER $40 on top of the original $40, so $80 per stop up there.

    @Boardhauler Driver Preference, he was hauling a double drop and they have no side boxes, so storage is limited

    Pay scale just looks a little less spiffy than the equipment is all I'm saying

    I'm not going to complain next time I have to blanketwrap a big piece of furniture, b/c I don't have to worry about falling 13' to the ground.

    Keep your fancy large car.. I want a fat wallet or better yet. A fat bank account.....

    @passingthru69 the funny thing is we have fat wallets and slick rides and a lot of #### pride so it's worth it to get a little sweaty and limber up and get your tarp on.

    Anyway, getting back to the original point of this thread before it MASSIVELY derailed, I'll be getting assigned my truck tomorrow along with my trailer, so I'll let everyone know how they are, and will post some pictures hopefully. I've taken a few since I started
