repetition, repetition, repetition.
what model truck will you be testing on? see if you can find a video on YouTube or a guide on the pre trip for that truck.
if its a Volvo I think I still have the slideshow from my school that was pretty helpful to me. -
I know there Freightliner

Coffee, cigarette and just walk around and kick the tires. Inspector will know your a trucker.
Seriously though. Dc843 is right. Repetition!
Grab yourself a note pad and write down what should be inspected and what your looking for and do it section by section. Use your note pad the first 10 to 100 times and reading and pointing and repeating the importance of what your inspecting. You'll eventually memorize it and wahlah!bottomdumpin Thanks this. -
Sorry I'm bugging you guys for this

Rather you ask than not, that's why the forum is here. For the wealth of knowledge, smart ### comments and being dirty. Ha

Guess I feel there are more important posts/problems to answer

Doesn't matter what model you have. It's all the same.
Check fluids. (oil is very important, coolant, power steering, transmission, axles)
Check tires. ( tread, thickness, pressure )
Check brakes. (thickness, adjustment, oil leakage, (which means axle seals)).
Check all air lines and wiring for anything that doesn't look normal. You'll get the hang of it after awhile.
Bushings. (frame, springs, shocks, etc.
Check for cracks. (frame, windshield, brakes, etc. )
Lights. ( all of them )
Those are the BIG necessities you'll be graded on and possibly asked for if job interviewing. There are minors which i'm brain farting at the moment. Like fuses, fire extinguishers, triangles, etc. -
Don't worry about that.

http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...eads/how-do-you-push-in-brake-buttons.156301/Blackshack46 and tucker Thank this. -
I have wood blocks i chalk one steer tire with. And let the air leak out till the valves pop on their own.
For pushing in, i let the truck air back up and hope they push in on their own. Has never worked yet. So i have to use a sledge hammer. And beat em in.
