I am typically conservative when it comes to my time, I passed three truck stops but told myself not to stop because every time I do there is never parking and rest areas always seem to have a spot or two. Trust me, I felt like doodoo when I seen that sign saying the rest area was closed when I passed two truck stops 20 miles back, I didn't want to explain that one to my safety department.
In fact the ramp I pulled off on has a few drivers bunked out, and this way I just pull out and get back onto 80 and enter toll.
I'm also on electronic logs, not saying paper would've been better.
Why has it taken me so long to secure and tarp? Help!

It happens. Wasnt really getting on ya about it. figured you was relatively new so thought I'd mention it.
Tip: there is a free app called truckerpath in the google play store(not sure there is an apple version) most rest areas and truck stops are listed on it and there is a comments section for each one, good chance that the comments for that specific rest area say it is closed.Dominick253, Chewy352, tsavory and 2 others Thank this. -
Il tell ya that truckerpath is the cats ars! Use it all the time with my trip planning.
tsavory Thanks this. -
I have the app too, but 9 out of 10 times the information is not accurate. Went to a truck stop that said medium parking and when I arrived there was nothing! It's a good tool, I use it with trip planning but I will never trust it's authenticity.

Great app but I agree the parking function stinks. Not sure why people aren't accurate with it. I suppose they want to protect their hidey hole? Normally its the mega company spots. Loves, PFJ.
There are other better options.spyder7723 and Michael91184 Thank this. -

Sorry bud, this week sure has put me through the ringer.
So this is very odd, but I need to know. When your pulled off at a ramp or somewhere that has no bathroom, and you really gotta poop, do you do the deed and poop outside and afterwards you feel small in the aspect that civilization has advanced to toilets and bathrooms. Well I had to do this the other night, I felt humiliated lol. -
Man I hate to hear this. Elogs. #### Politicians
4mer trucker, Michael91184 and Chewy352 Thank this. -
When I have to stop late in an area I don't know very well I forget about the mega truckstops and find the small mom and pop ones. They usually fill up last. If they are full I look for a cabellas, walmart, or lowes.
tsavory, MJ1657 and Michael91184 Thank this. -
Went to Home Depot and bought an orange 5 gallon bucket. Went to Outdoor World ( or any camping store will do) and bought a snap on toilet seat for 5 gallon buckets. Go to any truckstop and buy a pack of tall kitchen garbage bags.
See, years ago, I was on this wind farm in MilfordUT. I thought that I was young and stopped at a Carl Jr. Stomach started boiling, pressure building, full on mud slide. They had port o johns on site, but they were filled with scorpions and other creatures that you would dare expose your nether regions to. You don't want to squat in the bushes, because those critters were there too. Got in between the drive and the mudslide blew. Never again. In my line of work, where you are going in to ports for days on end, or wind farms, or crane moves out in the middle of nowhere, or rig moves, or bears and coyotes, you need to get rid of those mud slide dangers. Even the most hardcore driver can't function well with a full on mud slide.
Problem solved. Forever. You will NEVER need to be in fear of the dreaded mudslide.
