Hey Guys and Gals- If you are a company driver ... and getting regular work ... what is your expectations for the next load after empty? Am I using pink glasses to think that I should have something going a few hours (minimum) after calling in empty?![]()

When I am being unloaded I normally already know where my next pickup will be. That is unless I am going home for a couple of days.
-
I usually know what my reload will be a few hours before I unload.
-
I have something within 15 minutes 99% of the time. The rare exceptions would be if I'm in a remote area, they might have to set up a broker load to get me back to civilization. The other would be if the company has a lot of drivers in the same area. Usually it's first come first served or whoever kisses their butt the most,I guess?
I've heard horror strories about other companies drivers having to sit, though. -
as soon as you pick up your load you should start planning for your next load!
unless you are out of hours.

I always knew before I unloaded or within the hour if I had arrived really early at my stop. I have never sat more than 2 hours waiting for a load. Although at the Diner counter in the T/S, I've met a good many truckers waiting way longer than that.
