As I'm sure many of y'all know, getting a HazMat requires a clean record, which some of us don't always have....I didn't know that you could clear this up by expunging it, which is good to know. I saw an ad on Facebook and found a law firm that's helping me out. Not too expensive either. Worth checking out if you're having the same problems. There seems like a couple of law firms that do this sorta thing, but the one that I wenet with was Link removed. If you have any questions, let me know - I did some research on it.

You don't necessarily have to have a CLEAN record, just not have certain specific convictions within a set time frame. I forget what all they are or how distant in your past they need to be, just that it is a bit aggravating to fork over all that cash for another background check to renew the endorsement when if you had been convicted of any of the offenses since the last time you'd passed their check, you'd probably still be at the gray-bar motel. But, it is what it is...

Murder, sexual assult, kidnapping, firearm and explosive convictions, terrorism are the five if I remember.
-
Crimes relating to drugs, firearms, and dishonesty (certain types of theft, fraud, etc.) are more common offenses, and will be an issue.

I have numerous felonies some of which involved firearms. They were from early 2000's I did all my time completed rehabilitation and a applied for a waiver from Homeland Security and the TSA well I was just recently granted a waiver and given my Hazmat so it is possible. It's a long process but you do NOT need a Lawyer save your money!!

If you need any help just ask me and I'll lead you the best I can

Can you send me the info for the waiver from Homeland and TSA??
I'm still going to get my records expunged, because in the grand scheme of things $1000 isn't much to have these things legally removed from my record. I can legally say I've never been convicted after the process, so I think its worth it. I am interested in this wavier though, so please send if you can.Snowman73 Thanks this. -
Please report back if you do in fact get your record expunged. I'm skeptical. If it was that easy, alot of people would have clean records.
Snowman73 Thanks this. -
