I would say so. Really the only issue I've had with my truck minus the windshield so far. Costing about $105 a day plus the lost revenue. Hopefully it gets better quick.

    Lonesome Thanks this.

    I had a 2015 KW T680..brand new.
Left orientation in Green bay and when I hit Indiana the check engine light came on.
Not even 600 miles and BAM!
    Talk about shaking your confidence.
Turned out it was a bad turbo..they replaced it after 3 days of sitting in a motel.
Lost revenue and confidence..but it turned around.
So be patient and plan your next loads..watch some Law & Order..that's what I did.

Wow yeah that does suck!! I haven't commented but I do read a lot of your posts.

Fortunately I'm prepared for this. I've put back two months worth of bills,$4500 in maintenance and about $2000 for hotels and things like this.

Fortunately my truck is covered bumper to bumper for over a year more giving me the ability to keep saying that $500 a month for the repairs that occur after my bumper to bumper goes away.

I could live a lot better than I do here, however in this business I believe that I must be prepared for the worst to occur financially. I hope to have enough for a rebuild if I do end up paying this Truck off. And once I am in control of my maintenance th DPF will b burned yearly religiously. And I'll be adding super singles,APU and conestoga more than likely. But for now we trench on.

I have to say it makes me feel better when agents I work with call me to wish me a good day and that I'm out of the shop soon. Diesel fever.. I'm ready to roll.

Sounds to me like you're on track for a successful venture.
As long as you're happy and financially sound that is all that matters.
Too many people that get into this business worry about what everyone else is doing.
None of that matters..YOU and your FAMILY are what matters.
It's nice to share but most times people want your approval not your advice.
I for one enjoy reading your posts..so keep them coming.

So let's talk what happens after I'm out of orientation.

    Finish orientation
Go pick up truck/trailer. and equipment if it doesn't have it on there already. OKAY were ready to pull a load.

Jump on the board and find a load from Point A to point B that your interested in.
Call the agent listed and get the details. Its one coil 47,000 pounds and pays $1100 on the linehaul and $150 in fuel surcharge ( I'm using easy numbers) on 500 miles. And $50 to tarp.

So you take the $1100 x it by .75 to get your cut on the load equaling $825 +$150 FSC and $50 to tarp. So $1025 to truck on 500 miles. It is totally up to YOU if you want to add FSC and acessorials Into the truck pay or not.

Okay HEY I'll take it!! The agent will send the load info to your Qualcomm and then you call your fleet manager to get fuel money put on your fuel card. They use a formula to determine how much. So on average on 500 miles you'll get .555 cents per loaded mile (YOU pay for deadhead your an OO now) so you'll be offered $275 for what the load calls for plus $50 more MAX.

From this point nothing happens. You go haul your load, get empty and call your fleet manager to empty you out in the computer and repeat. They will need to know who signed the bills, how heavy, did you tarp it? Etc.

We get .20 cents off at the pump cash price right now at pilot,J, and loves. TA I have been averaging between .50 to one dollar off a gallon. Malone passes 100 percent of fuel savings on to the OO no bull crap involved.

You swipe your card and pay cash price, however immediately the second you hang up the pump whatever amount you were discounted will go back on your comdata card. This is YOUR money manage it how you like. If your deck is empty, and your not assigned to a load you can transfer this money to your paycard at anytime. But manage it wisely.

    88 Alpha Thanks this.
