You don't need high miles at all driver. You ever wonder why so many east coast carriers seem to be addiment about 500-800 mile runs. They pay well. Less miles less maintenance normally. Ever seen companies advertise sliding pay scales. It's not because they want to pay you more for short miles to help your paycheck. It's because the more miles the truck runs the less overall your actually making, if you think with a cpm attitude. Check load boards and see for yourself. The short runs pay a higher cpm per entage than the longer runs. The longer runs only work for the OD loads. Sometimes they don't even pay us well. If they really want you to be successful, why do they restrict your employment options.

Agreed on that one. Thanks for good input. My goal right now is to generate as much income buy my truck cash and turn this one back to quality. I picked a good truck don't get me wrong but all those partner carriers pay bottom dollar. maybe they can add some more.
Not meant for us to maximize our potential
And I do like paper logs.

Mercer is not what I would call a bottom dollar carrier.

Don't lease a truck from quality. They won't fix truck on the road. I had a truck that needed warranty work and repairs paid by quality. They told dealer not to even do the warranty work. Bring it to a quality shop. They're all backed up 2-3 weeks out. I think they wanted to make money make money on the warranty work from factory. They'll tell you lies about getting your truck fixed at dealer.

I had def problems on my 13 flt cascadia 350k miles.
I took it to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty. I did not even talk to quality.
Under their 30 day warranty yes I agree that they a hard nut, they want you to push and push and huff and puff before they fix anything.
It takes hours to get to talk with anybody on the phone. It's a tough gig if you get a lemon truck.

For what is worth, mercer pulled out. They want nothing to do with quality. To many guys that never owned a truck and couldn't figure it out.
The problem with all these no money down no credit check type deals is because of the ease of access, you get so many guys that are not prepared. They are almost guaranteed to fail.

Enough of them did so that Mercer decided they no longer wanted to loss money on more quality trucks. People don't realize just how much money a carrier spends on a new hirer.

Side note where i inject personal opinion: by jumping into these easy to enter lease purchase programs a guy really cheats himself out of the skills needed to succeed in business. The effort, and money management required to build a real down payment and clear up bad credit teaches those skills.

First of all don't jump in head first.its like the old saying don't dive in a four foot pool. Look all I'm saying is everyone have they say so to everything but its wat u say or do that counts so. With that said u get all ur bills an added up an then wat ever truck u get then how much on a average it burns in feul the wat u spend on road to eat an then see if can do this with out felling at it....then u can say in the next five years I made it...or next three to six mont how sorry the people are but at the end it's (((ALL ON U)))

Same here. Mine was new from them and anytime I need some little warrenty issue fixed. I go right to a dealer. Don't even bother with quality if u don't have too for any type of work done on the truck.
