Attaching oversize signs and flags

And I thought I was being lazy by putting mine on hinges!! LOL

 

I saw a driver in Waterloo that had a polished piece of diamondplate over the texas bumper of his 379. On the other side was his reflective OVERSIZED sign. It was held on by the hood pins and washers and cotter pins. I couldnt find the driver to see where he got it from...I would loooooove to have that setup.

 

That would look cool. Gotta love the laws. Can't be over 5' off the ground, Can't cover the license plate. Then there is the logical, can't cover the radiator because you need the cooling, can't put it on the bumper because you cover the plate.... LOL Can't win for losing.

 

Have you guys been messed with for covering you license plate? I never have but I've not been to all 48 states. That being said after the wreck we had them put a new 18" bumper on, I mounted the plate on a piece of angle iron. My sign fits behind it real nice.

 

When Wyoming temporarily suspended the use of over-the-cab signs, they were emphatic that the license plate could not be covered. I see a lot of folks that put their license plate on a hinge at the top of the bumper, then just lift it up, hang the sign, and let the plate hang over the sign.

 

Doesn't Oregon require a huge sign & allow it over the cab?

 

And Wyoming gave me crap about that too. I actually calculated it. It covered 6% of the sign and none of the letters... unacceptable.

 

Yes, and Washington, Idaho, and Montana all seem to agree.

Yeah, WY suggested I put the plate on the grill-not happening.

 

Yep Wyoming is a pain in the ### about it, sign can't cover the plate and the plate can't cover the sign bunch of crap is what it is.

 

I have hooks bolted thru the bumper for the top sign eyelets and bungee the bottom. License plate is cable tied to the grill.
