Safety days are not included in the max pto days

Its a good deal I was on a program like this before I was a truck driver. The thing to remember is not to use all your days just because you have them. They will let you carry over 10 days. The left over they will just pay out.

 

So, basically you start your clock when you come to work and stop it when you go home. 5 day driver=70 hrs.

 

Hypothetical. I earn my 36 days in about 40 weeks ( I'm in the 15-20 group). ((And don't quote me on the math. Doing this in a loading dock)). Other than regular pay, where's my incentive to work out the rest of those weeks to their fullest?

 

I think you answered your question. I like to be payed.

I did just the opposite, I bought a 2015 Ultra Lmt. then rewarded myself with the WalMart job! Lol.... I might actually be able to pay the notes now!

 

Ok. Bear with me on this. Examples:
5 day driver with the company 3 years averages 63 hours a week.
63x52=3276 hours a year.
He earns 1 PTO day per 100 hours worked. So, 3276/100= 32.76 weeks to max out on PTO of 26 days. Add a potential 4 safety days and it's 30 days if PTO.

Now let's look at a week on week off driver. Works 26 weeks a year.
Same seniority but averages 68 hours a week because they can run out their 70.
68x26=1776 hours a year.
Earns 1 PTO day per 100 hours worked. So, 1776/100=17.76 weeks to max out on PTO of 26 days. Add in 4 potential safety days and that's 30 days of PTO.
That's a lot of time off for the week on/week off guys.
Personally, I don't think this is fair. I'm all for week on/off guys getting some PTO, but not as much as the full time guys.
Anyone else have an opinion? Are my calculations right?
