How dangerous is this load?

    I guess the reason i look at that way is how much securment is used on the monster steel that weighs more... yeah its longer so 1 for every ten yada yada but it just feels wrong. Ifci ever start running that stuff im sure i would do it the way the rest of you guys do.....

    I throw every chain I have at that steel.
    Better to have to many than not enough.

    But the rocks not so much? See this is why i dont like the load...

    Yes those rocks are strap killers!!!! Chains will only tear the rocks up so I usually take some felt an place it under the straps when doing those razor sharp stones

    Why would you tarp a rock? That stone really does not move that much if at all. Take a look at this photo of the pipe I haul and see how many top pipe actually have chains through them.

    The reason is that this stuff just does not move.

    I moved rocks like that and we would use steelbands to secure it to the skids and then use straps on it .
    Still had quite a time keeping it secured. It could be because the truck was like this one images (1).jpg and had spring suspension?
