I know right. This post and thread arguably wins my vote for the greatest of all time! Talk about the ugly truth,I've been to nursing homes, hospitals, funeral homes and Taco Bells that have smelled better than what the OP had to deal with. And some of these drivers nowadays smell worse than the smell of death(and certainly look the part).

honestly, This kind of stuff doesn't surprise me much
.... My father was disappointed in me for going to truck driving school said I was taking on a lazy man's job
.... Take a good hard look at our professional drivers better yet listen to their conversations on the CB, is it any wonder why the American truck is looked upon as lower than whale crap?

.... I can see what he was trying to tell me now back then, I'll be glad to retire soon tho
Yall can keep the spare change also, what is it now up to 42 cents per mile now .... Probably not even that much,
Our wages have been stagnant for about 20 yrs now

Im sure your dad is a good guy but he got it wrong when he told you that trucking is a lazy mans job. Did he ever work 14 hour days on a regular basis? How bout drive all through the night? Stay away from home for weeks? Probably not.

    Why not?

Evidently everyone gets a kick out of it.

Thats what i like about the forum, I can go back and read stuff in the years past. Its funny how some people seem to get upset when an old thread is dug up.

    I don't get that either.

Some complain when you don't use the search feature because we have umpteen threads on a given subject, but don't you dare ask your question in an existing thread because that would be committing the sin of bumping an old one.
