Barjan bought francis probably 10+yrs ago. Barjan has since sold out to a company called das. They own pretty much all brands of cb radio accessories we see in truck stops now.

I assume he was very straightforward and to the point and not full of unnecessary conversation. And I'm sure you were pretty straightforward and to the point. He's normally not much of a conversationalist until he gets to know you. I know he hates it when people ask him stupid questions and waste his time.

No, he took his time, likely talked the best part of a 1/2 hour. I wasn't expecting that long of a conversation, he took the time to explain the mathematical formulas regarding antennas and frequencies coax etc. He had different recommendations for the 25 vs the 29 so that saved a bit of money. My experience was positive. If I decide to go with a sideband radio I would have no hesitation in doing a package deal all new directly from him rather than sending one of my used ones. I did price a new one with the recommended tune and alignment just have to get rid of some of my extra radio gear before adding more.darthanubis and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

I'm curious what you think of your receiver sensitivity since the work was done.

Seem to hear better but I often cut the rf gain back and keep the squelch off during the day as here on the east coast so many idiots with nothing to do but try and aggravate people. Early evening been getting quite a bit of skip again running the rf gain at about half. When I transmit I seem to running better tha average on just getting a response and I have not been asked to repeat myself which has been the case in the past. If I ever happen to run across some one I know has a decent set up or a base I know I will experiment with distance. I still would like to improve my antenna system but I'll likely be changing trucks later this year so will wait on that. I am running 1 of the cobra 29's now.darthanubis and rabbiporkchop Thank this.

Sorry I didn't post an answer sooner, I won't sell any of it because I intend to use it all when I get the new place built.

I asked about half in jest anyway figuring you didn't want sell any, but thanks for the reply! If you are going to use that much you will have to post some pics of your station when it is all up and running!

Hey @craig_sez
There's likely why he hasn't gotten back to you yet.slim6596 Thanks this. -
Mark used to be in Lodi Ohio. He sold me a Uniden 78LTW he had done, a 5.5' Francis antenna, stainless steel stud/mount, and coax....14'1/4", I believe. Put the antenna on the back of the International daycab I was in and talked/heard reliably for 12-15 miles . If I could walk my radio in to him, I would not hesitate to have him go through it and tune it up.
