If you will actually read reply above you might see that I included their vaunted Apprentice Program in my statement. You cannot deny that these programs are a very important part of their operation, and must be profitable, or they would not continue to operate in this way.
No where did I state that "nobody stays more than 1 year".

I will state however, that the bigwigs at Swift have the EXPECTATION that new people will leave within some period of time. Be it 1 year or less, 3 years, whatever...
They have run the numbers and found a way to make their massive turnover work for them.
To deny this ruins your argument...

Sadly, many prospective (and current) employees either don't know that their quitting is expected, and planned for, or blind themselves to this, due to cheerleading by some folks here and elsewhere.

I have no personal grudge against Swift or any other company.

I had not planned on engaging in a lengthy argument here, so good luck to everyone going to work there. I really mean it...

I'm done with this, you all can have at it...

Very well said. I can't believe the stands, positions, and arguments some will post while they are trying to get into school or attending school. Folks it is called experience get some and then report back.

Also, may I suggest learning to use the multi-quote feature?

This pretty much says it for me. those 2 are the primary supporters of Swift here. I state the obvious, sight their own chairman's words and they still tell me Im lying. But yet they still have not refuted really anything that I have said. And of coure Im not worried about the little red thing, because as Pawpaw thinks-its because nobody trusts me, but that is not so, it grows green with more people thanking you. I looked at most of his posts and Im not sure what anybody is thanking him for, all he does is state really nothing except to appease his Swifties.

If it was the intention of corporate to chase everyone away as you claim, then they wouldn't put so much into retention incentives. And one needs no more luck to work for Swift then you need to work for whoever you work for if you even drive a truck. And, have you worked for them? If not then how can you claim to be such an expert? And if you did, they were obviously good enough for you to consider. And we are glad you are done because that means one less person spreading false information with no first hand knowledge. It is amazing how much Swift expertise there is from those who have never driven for them or who haven't been there in years.

Maybe they have taken the time to research rather than spouting normal truck stop conversation like so many that come here and complain about copanies for which they have never driven. People come here to look for information and the ONLY people who can give valuable information are those who have driven for that company; whether the information is good and bad. AND they need truthful information, not a bunch of garbage that has no basis of fact.

Well I worked for Swift for almost two years. I have an exellent rating on my Dac from them and I eligible to be rehired. I can honestly say in my eight years of driving that was the worst two years. I will go to work for Taco Bell before I go back to Swift.

YOu haven't sited anything. YOU say many companies have kicked Swift out. Who are they and what is your source for your information? YOu have stated all kinds of other "facts" which are not facts. I know showman has done research and so have I. 7 years holding a steering wheel does not make one any more knowledgeable about a company (unless they have driven long-term for that company) than standing in a garage makes one a car. Start posting supporting information and maybe we would change our opinion. Then, when asked who you drive for, you come up with a lame tale that the rules say you cannot advertise on here. So what about all the positive threads where people say I drive for ABC and they are a great company? Doesn't that fit your definition of advertising? And yet those folks aren't sanctioned. And as for the red square, if you will notice you are one of the few with it and it comes from people saying they don't like your posts. Everyone starts with a single GREEN square and it moves up from there unless people disapprove of your posts.

Actually, snowman, it does no good to argue with people like mag or tim. They are just spreading what they have heard in truck stops. And you will find the best (LOL) source of information is the truck stop lunch counter. So many experts with so much information yet not a stitch of truth to 98% of it. I have often said it is a good thing that truckers don't have the time to also be avid fishermen. The fertilizer would be so deep you couldn't even get in to get a shower because most trucker stories are like fishing tales. And we have seen alot of that here. I, for one, am done dealing with these two tale tellers directly. They don't want to support their wild stories with any factual basis and just continue to prove our arguments to be true. Have a good one.

Well it is a simple question really, where does a driver fresh out of a school go and find $0.40cpm with ZERO miles under their belt. fact of the matter is, nowhere. Not unless you know someone. And according to timmy, he started out at 30cpm....but somehow working 26cpm is 'slaving'. LOL.....too bad simple questions cannot be answered without someone getting all upset.

    pawpaw Thanks this.
