Don't give me that ########. Taking drugs like heroin is a ####ing choice. Therefore becoming an addict is a choice.

I can tell you from first hand experience that it is not a choice. I had no choice until someone showed me how to get clean. Now that I've gotten clean there are steps in my life that I must take to stay clean. If I choose not to do those things then I lose all choice in taking that next drug. This is not just my experience. This is proven fact. It is not opinion. Addiction is a disease just like any other.

No it's the result of poor life choices. You can sugar coat it all you want but that doesn't change the fact that unless someone force fed her heroin, she made the choice to take it and lead to her addiction.

Just because something is out side of your own personal experience does not mean that it does not exist.

" People with sleep apnea just need to close their mouths and breathe normal. Nobody is making them lay their with their mouth open choking. If they'd just close their mouths when they breathe they wouldn't need that machine."

"People who are clinically depressed just need to stop being sad. If they just made friends or got a puppy their lives would be happy and they could stop moping around."

"People with dyslexia are just dumb. If they stopped being lazy and learned how to apply themselves they would be able to read fine."

Do you see how ignorant that sounds? People who suffer from a mental disorder have no more choice about their disease than people who suffer from a physical disorder. Mental illness is an illness and requires intervention and treatment just like physical illness.

To compare drug use with those disorders is ridiculous. Just another not my fault excuse.

Since you obviously lack the mental capacity to understand mental illness, I'm done with this conversation.

I understand mental illness just fine, I don't consider getting addicted to narcotics a mental illness since it's so easy to avoid.

Back to the original topic. How can any management of a store be called competent if an automobile is left in the same spot for months? The logical extension of that attitude is to ignore the safety of the customers by not making any effort to prevent individuals with criminal intent breaking into cars, or worse.
But something tells me they would be all over some truck driver who pulls to the other end of the lot, wants to take a 30 minute break in the sleeper and then go inside and spend some money. The hypocrisy is my point.

Having worked at Walmart, it actually does not surprise me that management didn't do anything. The name of the game is pass the buck. It's always someone else's job.
