Don't have my class A yet, [have a class B with hazmat tanker), but getting it this spring. I honestly don't think I could handle 5 days out or more. I'm looking for a local job, I'm willing to do some labor, but places like coke or Pepsi may be just a little too much. Any advice? I'm in northeast ohio, akron area

JRayL has local & hires new cdl grads.
Try Estes and Saia.
Try Dutch Maid and Nick Strimbu Inc.chrism1367 Thanks this. -
Go with what you have, a lot of places have A and B trucks, get your A. Then hire on to a place, tell them you want A but will prove your saftey and reliabilty in a B.

Try these for local:
Sygma Network
Southeastern Freight Lines
Gordon Food Service
McLane Comapny
All these companies hire with no experience and only require a CDL permit. -

Im not looking for no touch, I know that's prob impossible to find with no experience. I currently work for Ferrellgas doing mostly forklift cylinders and I'm about at the end of my wits with it. I started on bulk liquid and got a cylinder route 3 days a week now since last may, didn't really have a choice. Its def not easy work, I actually would like to be able to get out of the truck, guess I'm trying to be careful of what i am getting myself into, I'm not getting any younger. I think I need to start doing some legwork and find out exactly what's around me. Food service doesn't seem like it would be that bad, coke/Pepsi sounds like more than what I would want to do, I'm not in to stocking sgelves, rotating, displays etc. Thanks for the advice

Thanks China town, I talked to jrayl and also a driver who works for them, he had pretty much nothing but good things to say about them. I'm going to call back and ask about local jobs, I kind of assumed that their local routes usually don't go out to the new drivers
