In addition to auditable time stamps crossing scales or toll booths, your Comdata transactions also can be audited for time and place. While paper logs can be wonderful coloring books, you aren't allowed to color anything outside the lines.
Another thing to be VERY careful about, at NO time can a driver have two logbooks. If you make a "mistake" and need to remake a day's log be sure to destroy the first log.Straight Stacks and TripleSix Thank this. -

Dye Guardian, AModelCat and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
You asked how to run 2 logbooks every day all week. Thats like trying to balance your bank account with 2 completely different sets of numbers. You're only going to get into trouble. 1 logbook and knowledge of the regs will take you just as far.
If you park a mile or less away, you're at the receiver, and would have that fresh 14.not4hire, G13Tomcat and Straight Stacks Thank this. -

@DDlighttruck, do you know the difference between falsifying your logs and not being current on your log? -
For short time I ran paper logs
I used an app keeptruckin
I could edit logs with touch of a button. Not two logs but I was able to like smd is talking about I believe -
Trip planning is my weakest area. I can admit that.
This drop is tricky because you're not allowed in town limits at certain times. There was a city kitty parked right by the one road into town when I pulled in. -
Once ELD's are mandatory for O/O's, it won't be more than a few months before some enterprising soul will start selling a software hack to "ghost" the ECM. And we're back to where we are now.
With the license plate readers at various points, credit card transactions, cell phone tracking, the constraints are pretty tight. Knowing the rules, knowing where, when and how you are tracked, you better be on your game if you want to push. The split sleeper is one of our best tools, and I am surprised how few drivers know even vaguely how it works.
We schedule all our runs legally, but weather, accidents, and breakdowns can mess up the best laid plans. And I've never been able to convince a driver to shut down at 8 pm on a Friday night, an hour from home, with no POE's left....... Some of them appear to drive really, really fast the last four hours.........Dumdriver, bottomdumpin and Lepton1 Thank this.
