Then the mods should delete it. I don't see this thread as any different to the ones about who will hire me after a dirty drug test, etc. He asked, I provided a reply. He's a big boy and will have to deal with the consequences if something happens. Risk vs reward.

Unbelievable this forum allows 8 pages and counting on now to cook your books. Just don't hit anything driver cause if you do you are beyond screwed. Don't care how legal it looks on paper.

I always kept my logbook in a folder where I kept my bills and receipts I had not scanned in yet. One day I forgot that I had a new Logbook in there that I had not started using yet. I took the old one out to give to a Missouri DOT officer who noticed the new logbook. He laughed and asked me if my other logbook was right. I said yes he gave me back the logbook looked at my permits and asked me if my company rewarded a clean DOT. I said yes and he gave me one.

Incorrect sir. It's window licking steering wheel holder freight haulers on E-logs speeding through Truck stops running eachother over and parking like #######es because their E-log told them to shut down here who are making the industry look bad. The "outlaws" are the only ones who have any pride in their truck and personal appearance.

I always get a great kick out of drivers saying they are being abused by being allowed to run illegal. Lets break it down though. These companies aren't paying you to sit for 10 hours in a truck in god knows where are they? Hell, half of them won't even let you Idle much at all so it really doesn't cost them anything.

They're limiting their legal liability by forcing you to run legal to the letter of the law and to ensure that you meet the productivity goals they have set they make you live your entire life in a truck. Your just their ##### no matter what company you work for. I can get your weeks worth of work done in 2 days and have 5 days to enjoy with my family and friends pursuing my own interest. I'm a person and I have a life. That's the difference between old school and new breeds. Old school got the job done better in 1/3 the time and lived their life. New breeds are too afraid to do anything they aren't told to and live like slaves in constant fear.

You must be new or just flat out ignorant. Allow me to educate you. This industry is a highly competitive service industry due to relatively low barriers of entry since deregulation.

"outlaw" carriers provide better faster service and look better doing it, but you can't run a mega fleet like an "outlaw" because in order to hire enough drivers to staff a mega fleet and keep up with turnover you have to hire a bunch of ####### to drive your trucks because most the drivers who are worth a #### won't put up with the BS system you have to have in place to deal with all the ####### you have to hire. So now your stuck putting E-logs and two way cameras In all your trucks to mitigate your liability after giving all these tards a truck and a load.

How do you compete with the smaller companies that offer far superior service. The simple answer is you can't unless this particular customer values capacity over speed. So the Mega fleets I.E the ATA have joined together to try and shove e-logs down our collective throats through significant lobbying efforts to try and wipe out their competition.

I hate to ruin your fragile innocent world view, but Logbooks are now and always were Labor laws. They have never been about safety and the push for E-logs now continues the trend.

    Sssnake is absolutely right.

If you run "outlaw" and get into an accident, you MAY escape criminal charges if you are ruled not at fault, but rest assured you will NOT escape the civil lawsuit which will have the potential to backrupt you and then some.

An opposing attorney in such a suit can and will subpoena EVERYTHING relating to your last several days of duty status. Fuel and toll receipts, credit card and cell phone records, time stamps on BOLs, you name it, it's fair game.

It may be worth it to you, but not to the rest of us.

The "outlaws" who fall asleep at the wheel after the amphetamine high wears off and plow into stopped traffic are the reason the public has demanded action via groups like Public Citizen and Parents Against Tired Truckers.

E-Logs are the result. The "outlaws" brought all this on themselves.

I don't know exactly what you meant by this, but I guarantee that TTR does NOT endorse OR sanction illegal behavior, and you've been a member here long enough to know that.
