The 30 page bills is super rare. Takes about 2 minutes to write on a few pages. That's what they ask, so I do it. Your choice if you don't want to.
Maybe it's because I was self employed for many years that I have the attitude about work. I don't scale for free, I don't do paperwork for free... It's all included in the CPM rate I get. I didn't get paid to do estimates when I did construction, I didn't get paid to go to the lumber yard either... But it was all part of the overall price of the job.
I also learned to do things right. My wife laughs at me cause I like to do everything the right way. I get mad at myself when I make a mistake or fail at a task. It's just how I am wired. If Magnum tells me to do something a certain way, I just do it. No big deal. Doing the paperwork to scan and scanning it takes less than 10 minutes...I don't change up because someone tells me they stopped doing it and 'they' haven't said anything... I do it the way I was asked...Probably because I know how frustrating it is to have employees... Something I NEVER want to have EVER again. Lol... But that's just me.
Sorry if I came off self righteous...

Does Magnum want paper receipts for fuel or do you log it and go?
-
No receipts for fuel. Just log it and go.
Pigbacon and WalterSobchak Thank this. -
Made my delivery in Sturtevant Wi on Wednesday morning. Picked up in Racine Wi on Wednesday and made tracks up to Fargo. Delivered that load to Case on Thursday morning. Got my trailer washed out at the trailer shop and stopped by Safety. Had to do a random urine and breath test.
Then I deadheaded to St Cloud, MN and got loaded with a load going to NC. Drove to Menomonie WI and shut down. Got up today and made it down to Spiceland, IN today. Will be able to make it to NC tomorrow and get a reset in at home before delivering this load. Nice surprise for the wife to get home for Valentine's Day. Been running on recap hrs so it will work out great!Pigbacon and WalterSobchak Thank this. -
If you were working the other end of things, it would make sense.Pigbacon, runningman0661 and ncmickey Thank this. -

Im sure its a skill most have after a while. But I will admit I still pat myself on the back after setting my tandems based only on feel or even eyeballing the load, then scaling it to confirm perfection. -
Picked up a preloaded trailer at Menard's in Shelby, IA. During the inspection found trailer tails are damaged, right tail is hanging on by a thread, left has a major crack. Will strap them down, make the drop in Mankato, MN then haul it to coon rapids drop it there. Trailer # 1153003.

Well shouldn't every load be scaled just as about every load needs fuel? Wouldn't they need to match up fuel with loads too? I mean why not. It's the same argument. Well "they" should instruct us to do so then. It was never once told to me in orientation or while training.
Bills mixed up? I guess I don't get in a habit of mixing multiple bills together. But if you are doing that I would see why it would be very important for you to label everything. I guess basic organization skills are hard.
