No "I told you so's" coming from me, since I kept my yap shut on this move. Since I never worked for Celadon or Risinger, I'm not properly informed enough to say yea or nay on a move.

That said, given what you have been through, I would've made the jump, too. That "wage lock" sounded real good, especially with freight the way it's been. Too bad Celadon is doing their best to avoid making good.

I'd recommend looking for a smaller carrier in the area of your folks, but they are getting hammered every bit as hard as the bigger carriers right now. Market sucks for everybody, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if we see another round of smaller carrier shutdowns like we did in '08. So sticking it out with a bigger carrier (with more capital to weather the storm, as it were) might be the safer option. A little money is better than no money at all, yes?

    Stay safe and warm!

Thanks Kemo Sabe--but until I untangle this thing with my DAC I'm not going anywhere.

Laundry almost done. Time to go to the yard and get told there are no rooms available. Gotta run back across town in the snow and pick up my CPAP machine, and come back to my friend's place to crash. (Bad choice of words)

Have you considered grocery store deliveries? Aldi has a DC in Greenwood. Don't know who the carrier is tho.

    DAC issues.

No car. No home. Gave them up when my daughter went to college so I could afford to help her and service my personal debt at an accelerated rate; that's the whole point of us being OTR. Have mentioned these things before, it's the reason I'm not doing LTL work for one of the local FedEx contractors. Or P&D work.

Things were going fine, we were ahead of schedule by about two years, then everything went sideways right here.

I can't do local work, or LTL, or anything but OTR, until I get a place to live and a car. And now, until I get this DAC issue straightened out, which may not happen.

Moving is really not an option unless Gordon will take me back, seeing as how I just left them a few weeks ago.

I can fix the home issue, the car issue will take a bit more time. The DAC issue--dunno. I might just go back to the car business; I'm about over this ####.

    Lot of that going around.

I got to church this morning and am less homicidal than I was yesterday, and I'm thinking a little more clearly today. I just hope I haven't made any enemies at corporate. I was speaking quite plainly about my feelings Friday and I was royally cheesed off.

The Wisdom of the Ages says that a fool gives full vent to his rage. And that a man who utters his whole mind is a fool. Guess that indicts me on two counts.

Guess I'd better add "speak" to my list of Things Not To Do When Angry.

    -Drive
-Have sex (the wife may contest this one)
    -Drink
-Shop for your wife (trust me on this one)

You just gotta keep things in perspective Captain. When I start ruminating about how unfairly the world is treating me, I'll see an article about those refugees in the Greek islands and thank the Good Lord that I don't have to make the choices that they must make. Stay in your home and possibly be killed by homicidal fanatics or jump in a rickety boat with no real destination and possibly be killed escaping from the homicidal fanatics.

Thru all history, really until just the last 100 years or so, humankind has teetered on the brink of starvation. I've never really (really) had to worry about where I'll get my family's next meal.

Things seem dire now (I've been there myself) but things always seem to have a way of working out. Maybe this is exactly where you need to be so that you're directly in the path of that next great opportunity. God has an ironic sense of humor and He's got perfect timing. All we can do is just keep plugging along and let Him do His thing. You're very smart and you're a very hard worker, so you've got a huge advantage over most of the population. Just keep things in perspective.
