Yes you can.. depending on where live and if you use your brain.
There's two drivers on this forum from the Northeast which posted their numbers. They go home a lot, one weekly and they both averaged over $1.90 all miles for the year.

Yeah the Southeast and home every weekend is tough numbers wise.
If people wanna home every weekend don't lease a truck for an "OTR job" lol unless you live in a very very good area.

What do you consider wearing yourself out?

I do mostly 2 loads a day almost every week..it's not unusual for me to do 9 loads monday to friday.
Of course Monday goes on last weeks settlement..but that's what I call ''padding'' my check.
Area has a HUGE impact on where you live..but if you think you can just get in the truck and pull 1 load a day..you're delusional if you think you're going to make $3500-4000+ in 5 days.

Somewhere along the way drivers got the impression that once you buy a truck you're on easy street.
It's hard work to keep a business going(as we all know)..so many factors effect your bottom line.
If you come into this as a IC or O/O and don't have your finances in order..YOU ARE DOOMED TO FAIL.
I waited 20 years before I bought a truck..things are all in place for me to cruise on into retirement.

And like a wise man I know once said..'' I didn't buy a truck to work harder''.
BUT..do to my work ethic I hammer all week long..greed and a sense of pride in what I do drives my profit margin.

    Best of luck to all.

I'm from the Northeast so i know being up there you can make good but however, the bs that you have to put up with running up there in these months I'll gladly take the pay cut and run other regions lol

Actually you can pull one load a day as long as it's averaging 500 a day... That's 3500 for the week.. Or you can just do two loads like yourself. Either way works.. The problem with stacking loads is if one cancels your week is screwed..I hate that

I do agree with that. Once you learn the lanes it is doable if you stay regional. I also agree with traditional financing which is another reason I only agreed to do one year. I want to get outside financing regardless if I stay or not. Which at this point I'm probably staying.
