When you originally posted I thought you were responding to the poster from Philly...southeast market is tougher but can still be done. There's s couple good regional runs.

No truck payment with a reliable truck would serve well at a lot of places.
That would be the dream wouldn't it? I wouldn't mind not paying $770 a week anymore lol

Doing a program similar to Choice in the past with a paid off truck I will say...yes it's nice...but at that point it's an older truck and what you are putting into it for repairs and standard maintainence can make it a wash.

    Here's a goodie...

Dude from Swift picked Interstate over Schneider to go leasing....

He made a video about WHY...
Not much about comparing the programs, mostly about the trucks and it's easier and cheaper to get a truck at Interstate vs here at Schneider. Dude made a whole video mainly about that.

    Listen closely starting at 2:40

"To get a new truck you had to put X amount of thousands of dollars down... which I DIDN'T HAVE"

Another guy getting into leasing a truck with no money right there.
That's a big reason why I think Schneider made it more difficult to get into.. having no money and starting a truck lease is a bad idea.
If someone doesn't have a couple thousand or so to put up for a truck they don't need to be leasing a truck!

Cancellations are a hazard when doing double duty.
But it's worth the pay off if the Stars stay aligned.
There's days when I pull down $1100-1300..of course I'm always bumping up against my 14.
I know it doesn't work like that in alot of area's..but you can make more than $500/day.
My goal when starting out was minimum of $800/day..of course it didn't always happen.
But if you can make $700 one day than $1000 the next it equals out in the end.

We all run different..that's why it's hard to tell someone how to run.
I can't change your habits and I don't want to.
I will be brutal and tell you what you're doing wrong though..and YES I know I don't do everything right either.
    But that's another story..

That guy is what's wrong...I do appreciate sfi and Sni making it harder to get in this program...this isn't child's play..this is running a business and many can't figure that out and that's why they fail...these people need to figure that out...this program is great but it's not as easy as some think especially right now with the drop,in freight levels...he's bragging about running for .99mi??!!....he's got another thing coming...he's also full of crap about what he's mentioned about Sni/sfi...he don't even have his facts straight either...what a joke..

So what are you saying..double loads can't be run in the SE?
Or most drivers are passing and taking the easy haul stuff?

If I had my way I'd run longer mileage freight..but the rates aren't there.
Every now and then you trip over something worth while..but they are few and far between.

Nah I'm not saying that but it is a little harder to stack down here.. I'm saying unless you really know what you doing you're not gonna be very profitable going home every weekend living in the Southeast

It's a crap shoot with new or used. I will roll the dice with used. Once you get all the bugs out, it's not that bad. A used truck fit my life style. I like too spend time with the old lady. When I had a truck payment it was only $767 a month. 6 yrs and I'm still rolling.
