Gotta make those miles,. get home in time to do laundry,.. catch up on sleep just to leave out 34 hour later and run all week again. What a wonderful career choice. But hey,.. he's home weekends.

Yep,.. have to make sure the cable tv bill is paid for for his hootchie to park on the couch all week while he is out working. Dont forget that weekly car payment to the buy here pay here place.

3 things he pays for and never gets to use.

    Thats how I do it.

    3 - 6 weeks out,.. 7 - 14 days home.

1 - 3 days home time is not enough to really enjoy being home.

That's how I've done it for most of the past 40 years. Before I go back to the OTR thing I think I'll get a more local gig, home a few nights during the week.
Everybody has different needs/desires, you just gotta find what works for you.
Winning the lottery would work real good for me.

All these New breed drivers make me really nervous to share the road with. Half probably don't even do a proper pre trip. Nowadays I think it's people that have tried just about everything and half fail at it so they get this bright Idea of driving a truck. Sounds like heaven to them until they get a taste of it. Not a lot of younger guys are getting their cdl anymore, I went to get my cdl at sage when I was 21 and was by far the youngest in the class. My dad and grandpa were o/o I was brought up old school.

I said screw otr, im gonna do food service and bust my back but at least I see my bed 5 nights a wk and the other 2 in the motel with my own shower and pooper. Seriously can't put a price on having your own bathroom while on the road
